Nawaz Hussain Sikander represented a client in Special Criminal Bail No. 11 of 2023 for seeking bail for an accusation of smuggling foreign currency worth more than USD 130,000/-.
The client was traveling outside of Pakistan with his own personal funds and intended to declare any foreign currency exceeding the permitted limits to the relevant authorities at the airport. However, before the client could do so, he was arrested and accused of smuggling foreign currency out of Pakistan. NHS successfully defended the client and the High Court of Sindh vide Order dated March 28, 2023, granted the client post-arrest bail after being held in custody for almost two months.
